I have that band saw... works nice. The light really helps.

FrankyRizzo 08-15-2007 07:58 AM

Thanks for the heads up on the band saw. Perfect for tire foams.

I think I would be happier with a bandsaw and sander..........Your a lucky man"thumbsup":D

Will that compact band saw cut metal? I looked on the Ryobl site, and it was in the woodworking tools section. I'd love to find a small saw for fabbing parts.

i have the same bandsaw and you can get the bi-metal blade for it to cut aluminum and thin steel. usually for bigger things i use my porta-band saw. the band saw is great, i use it all the time. now you gotta get a drill press if you don't have one yet. "thumbsup", lucky man!

rockmike 08-15-2007 09:56 AM

RIGHTON,let the fabbing begin,oh the proper tools for the job, makes life much easier.

STEEL_CITY_CRAWLER 08-15-2007 10:00 AM

i got that band saw, too. i have a really hard time cutting a stright line with mine, though.

not saying it is necessarrily the band saws fault, it could be the user, too...

STANG KILLA SS 08-15-2007 10:23 AM

i have both of those! the 4" sander is awesome! but the band saw BLOWS. it wont cut a straight line to save your life. sorry. maybe i got a bad one. i changed the blades so many times, adjusted tracking, rollers everything, nothing helps.
congrats on the awesome wife!

I picked up a ridgid 59 1/2" metal blade for it.....it handles up to 59 1/2 so yes it will cut metal"thumbsup"

5150 Krawlers 08-15-2007 09:01 PM

Ive been cutting straight lines all day....I have alot of patience when it comes to cutting stock though......it just took a little getting use to

Red Rockcrawler 08-15-2007 09:12 PM

I have the same bandsaw and it won't cut a strait line either,

5150 Krawlers 08-15-2007 09:14 PM
