Default 801RCC '09 Point Series Comp Event #6 "June Rock Ryda"

801RCC '09 Point Series Comp Event #6 "June Rock Ryda"

Ok guys this is it, the last comp of the point series. This comp will be the deciding factor in who will make the top 5. As most of you know the top 5 drivers will earn a spot in the "'09 Utah R/C Crawloff" (more info coming very soon) With the top drivers being very close it's still anybodies guess as to who will pull it off. This year the competition has been incredibly close with drivers moving up or down in the ranks after every comp. Some only moving a spot or two while others fall or jump more than 5 positions. This next comp is sure to be one of the most interesting comps of the series. It has been an amazing series, but don't worry 801RCC will still be throwing it down every month with a great comp and weekly GTG's to keep us all "Crawling Forward"

-when-
June 13th '09 -6/13/09-

9-9:30 Course setup
9:45 Pics and drivers meeting
10:00 Competition starts

-where-
Wendover Nv.

NAME: West Wendover
LOCATION: Wendover Nv.
TERRAIN: West Desert rock
TRACTION: extremely high w/a bit of sand

Ok this comp is going to be in a slightly different location than last time. it'll be at the same rock mountain on the west end of town but this time it'll be on the far west side of the mountain. This spot has more room and is even easier on your vehicle. Just follow Wendover Blvd west till you almost pass the rock mountain. Then turn south onto the dirt road follow the dirt road about a 1/4 mile, staying next to the mountain. when you are directly west of the mountain peak you're there.

GPS coordinates
40.740715, -114.104701

See ya on the rox

Only a week to get your rigs ready for the smack down I'm going to be delivering this sat.

On a serious note I'm real curious to see who pulls out the top 5 in the points.

Oh yeah!!! That comp was a blast. The weather was perfect, cloudy and warm. It did rain for a bit but that just added to the experience. We finished everyone but 5 drivers before the rain came, so we had almost all the drivers done by 2pm then we hung out under some easy-up and such just Shootin the breeze. I had as much fun hanging out with everyone that the rain didn't scare away. After waiting for an hour it cleared right up and the sun came out. We BS'd a bit longer (a few phone calls told us there was no reason to head home with the freeway closed) till the rocks were dry and finished up the last drivers. We had plenty of time to fun crawl and mob scalers and a Slash around. It was real relaxed and just an all out great time. Chewy and I topped the day off with dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe with Tuner and his mom. Thanks everyone for coming out and hanging. And a huge thanks to everyone that helps make 801RCC the best club around. Scores and pics will be up soon.

This Comp wrapped up the 801RCC's '09 point series. And what a battle it has been. I want to thank everyone that came out and competed with 801RCC and help make 801RCC the best club period. Also a Huge thanks to everyone that helped judge through out the series.

This comp was top notch. We were under way about 10:30 and the competitors jumped right in to show off their driving skills along with their latest tweaks. Early on Mac10 was making some noise and set the pace with negatives on 4 of the 5 courses. Not much later Tuner came through edging out Mac10 by 1 point. A bit later in the day J-rad came through on another devastating run and was looking to be the top contender at the time, but with a few more good drivers still to run he wasn't holding his breath. After most drivers had ran his course, NazT ran through with some amazing driving. After making only 1 reverse on course 1 and flawless on the other 4 he was now in the top spot with only a few drivers left to run. Murf Dog was a bit late to run do to plowing up a gear in his Berg the night before by ripping wheelies. After getting his rig fixed he made his way to the courses. Murf Dog was off to a great start and was flawless through the line NazT had made his revers on. He was flawless and looking to take his first victory, till course 3 were he got over confident and rolled only inches from the finish gate. knocking him back to the 3rd spot. NazT, J-rad, MurfDog, Tuner, and Mac10 is how the top 5 finished.

A few honorable mentions

Bob: Doing tons for the club, even if it's behind the scenes.

MurfDog: Great first series and a podium finish after only 5 comps. Look out guys he's lookin to be a top contender.

DeanO: Awesome job and great composure. Barely missed 4th by one point

Scooter: Looks like you got that Losi dialed in. Now you just need to get used to it.

High Pines: Always willing to help clean up and makes everyone feel welcome to hang at their camp.

Team Loco: Always having a great time no matter how bad their driving.

Many more but I know you guys want scores so here ya go
