did you find anything? I think someone should take initiative and get a Nylint Specific Comp going. I think it would be really fun and GOOD for the entire sport.

BTW................. is RC Crawling a sport?

I just think the only way to really know what you got is competition. It's what personally gives me motivation to keep hacking up my Junk!

newbie here too...in the middle of customizing my 1:6...i couldnt find anything on so-cal comps for anything, let alone nylints...if the numbers are there, i dont see why we cant start one though...just have to find somewhere relatively central to people...i know i wouldnt want to drive more than about an hour just to play with a few people, but if there are enough involved it might make it worth it.

This is the problem right here. Nobody except the few of us that actually DO get together wants leave their home town.

Myself, Gregrocks, and Pidgeonfarm boy, all drive more than an hour to meet up when we do. So does 90% of evreybody else on this board. I don't know what it is about So Cal.

I'm really getting tired of people posting up threads like this... then when we post up about a GTG, nobody shows.

In fact I've found what looks to be an incredible site near Barstow, but haven't posted anything on here for this reason.

rockpiler, eventually i will be one of those people that would be willing to make a drive like that. I mean come on, i have enough fun crawling by myself on crappy crawl spots, i can only imagine how much sweeter it would be to do it with other people at a fun spot. Where exactly are you thinking about near barstow? out of curiousity.

You know where Peggy Sue's diner is off the 15? Ever look around right there?
It looks like a mini moab.

I'd be willing to drive to San Diego too. It's just that everytime I've seen a So Cal
"Let's get togehter thread" nobody is willing to drive to meet except the three of us.

I've posted before about Laguna Beach, that seems like it would be central enough for both you San Diego guys and us. It would be about an hour from here or from SD.

I know where that is. Stoddard Wells Road. Apple Valley, CA.

We play down the road from there, Great Area.

Gonna be over there about Noon Sunday 12/10/05 with few Nylints.

Go East on Johnson rd.
1.5 miles after you cross Central rd. on the right side.

Lot of places the crawl in that area.

It is a "Shotgun Only" shooting area also
So bring out both Crawler's and Shotguns
Good Fun

hey

that sounds like a GREAT Place....how far is that from san diego...if it's an hour or so, that would be fine with me.

im still thinking a san diego crawl would be fun...thinking about asking the local shops for prize donations in exchange for advertising

couldn't have said it any better myself. the other so-cal get together problem i've noticed is that some crawlers on this board are not of driving age/don't own a car/dad won't drive me/etc.

whatever. so-cal is a large area folks, so we have to be willing to drive more than just down the street. if you have a potential crawl spot near you, post some pics so all of us can see them.

brian, give me a call or e mail me. just got home from the euro tour last night, and i'm dying to finish the new crawler. just need the moab xl's and servos! i'll probably pick those up today.

their is a place about 15 minutes away from me that has rocks for miles. its not hard enough for clods but is great for the 1/6 nylint crawlers. you can walk around for hours and not touch the same rock twice.
