| Is this legal?
Ok from what I've got from the rules my truck, like it sits is 100% legal, yes the chassis is a little unusual but I like to be different Length, Width and Height are 8.375" x 3.200" x 3.125" respectively. The only one I see having trouble with is the width being it is achieved with the use of chassis braces and standoffs and not the cab. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about: The standoffs and braces are used to get the 3 inches needed to be legal, the shocks mount on the outside of the braces, I would just a longer screw (I left them out for a better picture of the braces). The braces are NOT part of the suspension they are pieces of the chassis so they should conform to the rules. Just wanted to get a second opinion on the matter! Excuse the terrible pic, it's a freaking pain trying to hold those calipers and take a pic lmao Jake |

I'm not an expert on this, but what if you made the front roof cross tube 3" so the cab would be legal width. I like what you have come up with. Just my $0.02 Rob |

Still have to have hood panel even if it was legal. Shocks and fasteners (nut, bolts, washer or spacers) shale not be included in the measurements of the vehicle. Sorry but it is not legal Last edited by klabeaume; 05-25-2013 at 12:22 PM. |

You keep saying chassis braces but it looks like they brace the shock mounts to me.

Plus with your hood on that chassis would fail on this spec as well. Body panels must be fitted to the vehicle, and not be exaggerated in size or shape that intentionally distorts the vehicles legal measurements Don't think I am trying to bust your balls. I think it's cool you're trying something new but I do believe your current setup will not pass tech. Last edited by klabeaume; 05-25-2013 at 02:22 PM. | |

Yea I figured it would be hard to get pass tech lol, not sure how to make it legal either lol, if this isn't legal then I guess it's scrap as far as comps go. Have u seen the body panel setup though? In the xr forum? |

Just a thought.... If this isn't legal as a body less chassis. How about putting a body on it? That was you have the performance and the body makes it legal. Is this an option? Rob |

I didn't notice the links acting as braces before, That does make things more interesting...

Yea lol, the braces DO connect to the shock mounts but they keep the front and rear of the chassis from twisting, so they connect TO the chassis so wouldn't they be considered part of the chassis? I mean I know I'm thinking deep into it but I really like the way this chassis turned out so I want to try it out lol Jake The finished product: And Krawler Koncepts: If it came down to it, I may consider that option lol, I just like the light weight setup |

Can you do me a favor and measure those offset traxxas hollow balls? I know regular revo balls are 7mm but haven't been able to find out what those measure.

Interesting rx placement. Whats holding it on? Plus a body wouldn't add much more weight. You can cut weight else where to make up for the body.
