Low Elevation Rock Krawlers Overland Challenge

Well as most already know Team LERK has adopted the RCOTC and we well be continuing the mini series as bragging rights for the series. Because there was already one event and were only going to do a few more before the Rock Hard series starts.

So with that said we well be going to beautiful Utica lake or as most know it, The Slick Rock trail just above central valley california. We well be following the rules that were already set for the RCOTC.

We'll be throwing in a little twist and that well be the POKER RUN so in the 100 to 200 gate course there well be 6 bonus challenges in the mix so every bonus completed well bank your team a playing card, So you have 6 chances to bank cards. At the end of the event the best hand well take the pot

Location: Utica Lake CA
Date: september 15
Poker run fee: $5 person, Team splits pot.

Heres GPS coords as well as directions:

GPS= 38* 26'24.29 N / 120* 00'26.72

Directions= From Hwy99 take Hwy4 toward Angels Camp Ca about 45 miles, Once in Angels Camp stay straight onto hwy4 bypass from there drive another 40 miles up hwy4 to Spicer Meadow Rd, Take a right on Spicer Meadow Rd and go about 9 miles and take a left onto the gravel rd. You'll see the little signs saying Utica lake and Union Lake. About a mile up the gravel rd stay to the left when the road forks, Go another couple miles to the end of the gravel rd and you'll see a big staging area for the Slick Rock trail and your there. Park anywhere and i'll have a team LERK sign out pointing to the camp site.


For anyone who wants to come up early a few of us well be camping from friday to sunday.

Ok so there's no fee, It's basically camp in areas where theres a fire pit and were good to go. Only thing we need is a camp fire permit and our crawlers.

Ogrc of fresno has 3 confirmed hopefully more for the 15th we will b coming up Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

But juts so I know what to expect - will there be a certain types of vehicles only? we will be running 1.9 scx10's scaled but Juan also has a 2.2 scx10

Does the 1.9 scaler rock hard series info/general rules apply to this event?

Ok so for the team challenge your gonna want to run 1.9 size tires and for the Rock Hard series it well be under SORCCA rules so go to the Comp section and under the SORCCA and look for the scale rules and you'll see the specs for running the series. If you can't find it let me know and i'll send you a link

Hows the fire situation up their?

I was up there today it's smokey in the morning and mostly gone by noon.The fire is nowhare near Utica.
