Sunday April 22nd 2007
Taylors Falls Mn
Drivers meeting and tech inspection starts at 9:00am sharp. Course building at 9:30
First truck through the gates at 10:00am sharp

Pic's of the comp area can be seen here:http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...618#post336618

Directions to the comp area can be found here in the calendar section:www.MNRCROCKCRAWLERS.com

For this season, we are running only 2 classes.
2.2's
Supers

Also new this season, we will be running 2 courses at the same time. This is to speed things up for those that have a longer drive, and to allow more after comp play time.

Bring your scalers out for after comp play!

As most of you know that ran last years series, it takes most of the day to run the comp.
It would be wise to bring a lunch and something to drink.

As always, good luck to all competitors!!!

And here are our updated rules after we had our meeting earlier this year. One thing to note that was not included in the rules is that if you do point out, you are still more then welcome to finish the course, we will not start the next truck until you are done and cleared of the course. And we have a higher point out then the standard rules.

Now, on to business...

We discussed the new USRCCA rules. I won't go into detail, but I will touch on key changes:

-Body specs:

* Supers with lexan bodies:
o
Vehicle must run a body 1/10th scale or larger. Body trimming is allowed but 70% of the original body must be retained. Legality of a body is to be determined by the event judges. Judging guidelines are as follows: 3” minimum height on sides. No more than 3” taken off total length. No less than 12.5” total length and full width in the center.
*
Super Tubers:
o
Super class tube chassis are allowed with the following restrictions. Over all dimension of the complete chassis must be at least 12"overall length, 3" overall width, and 3.75" overall height the roof must be raised from the main chassis to resemble a cockpit, and it must have solid hood, roof and side-panels. Tube chassis’ should resemble a 1:1 vehicle.
*
2.2's running lexan bodies:
*
2.2 tubers:
o
2.2 Crawler class tube chassis are allowed with the following restrictions. Over all dimension of the complete chassis must be at least 8"overall length, 3" overall width, and 3.75" overall height, the roof must be raised from the main chassis to resemble a cockpit, and it must have solid hood, roof and side-panels. Tube chassis’ should resemble a 1:1 vehicle.

-Suspension/Articulation (same for both classes)

*
Active Suspension
is allowed - A suspension that is interlinked which by design moves part of the suspension in one direction when moved from another. This does not have any driver input.
*
Forced Articulation
is allowed – Forced articulation is the use of something such as hydraulics or electronics to literally force the suspension to move in a driver-controlled manner.
*
Winching down of the axles is allowed. The winch line must be attached within a 1/2" of the center of the axle, and by a single attachment point only.
*
All suspension mounting points must be fixed mounted. This includes all link mounts, and shock
mounts.
*
The vehicle must run a course entirely with the same wheelbase, track width, ride height, and tires it started that course with. Any changes to the vehicle (other than winching down the suspension or forced articulation) by the driver, another person, or any device, while on the course are prohibited.

-Gates

*
Gate Marker:
10 pts for each gate marker hit, straddled, or if a tire hovers over the marker (each tennis ball half).

These following rules are specific to MNRCRC:

-We are not running a 2.2 modified class this year, just Supers and 2.2's.

-We will be running 2 courses for each class simultaniously for sake of time. This will make sure we finish at a reasonable time, and allow for more time after each comp for bashing.

-USRCCA has a very strict on reverses. Bsically, if any tire slightly moves in the reverse direction it is a penalty.
For MNRCRC, we have agreed to keep the same stance as last year: If any tire rolls slightly backwards, it is acceptable; not to exceed an inch or so at the discretion of the judges. If someone starts to abuse this allowance so as to better their path or position, they will be warned and then penalized.

-60 point max: We agreed to a max of 60 points per stage. We agreed that for scoring and flow of comps that a maximun was needed; however, we understand that people are concerned about not being able to finish the stage and that they may max out too soon. Therefore, we agreed to raise the amount of points from the traditional 40 to 60 as a compromise.

-70 point DNF (did not finish): 70 pts are given anytime a driver cannot complete a stage for any reason (Vehicle not Repairable, went Home… etc). Progress points are awarded for each gate completed.

-80 point DNS (did not start/show): 80 points are given anytime a driver cannot start a stage for any reason. To start a course the vehicle must break the plane of the start gate. 80 points per stage are also given for anyone who doesn't show up to a competition.

-We are going to track scoring in 2 ways initially. We will decide at a later date so we can expirience both.

*
Your score from the competition goes towards your series points.
*
Your placement determines your points. First place gets 100 points, second place gets 95, and so on in increments of 5 points.

We will be allowing 1 score per competitor to be thrown out for each series.

-We will have 2 series this year. Each series will comprise of 6 comps. We tried to schedule around both the MN Nitros and the MN RC Dragway schedule; however, unfortunately some dates do overlap.

MNRCRC Series 1 Schedule:
April 22
May 6 & 20
June 10 & 24
July 15

MNRCRC Series 2 Schedule:
Aug 12 & 26
Sept 2 (at the X Games), 16, & 30
Oct 14 and possibly 28

*The reason the 28th is listed as a possibility at this point is due to the USRCCA Nationals event. We want to try to schedule around the Nationals so that anyone who qualifies or wishes to attend may. This will be discussed further once the Nationals date has been confirmed.

We also intend to have at least 2 get togethers:
July 1st and our annual Howl Krawl. However the Howl Krawl will be determined by the scheduling around the Nationals; either Oct 28th or Nov 4th.

Default 07 season comp #1 sign up

Just to get an Idea of how many competitors we're going to have this weekend.
Even if you think you may be there, sign up
add yourself, cut/copy/paste.
This is not manditory to sign up to run, however I've noticed many of the other clubs have sign up's, and I don't think it's a bad idea.
Also please note, if you would like to recieve an e-mail reminder of the next up coming MNRCRC event (about 4-5 days prior to the next event) please post an e-mail address also.

Yet another reminder: The Taylors Falls Pothole trail crawling site, is a MN State Park. As it is such, you'll need a Mn State Park sticker.
Last year I believe they were $7 daily? and $28 yearly. Since we crawl there alot, it's probably worth it to buy a yearly pass which goes from the month of purchase to month of purchase, and is good at any MN State Park.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

April 22nd comp #1 sign up.
Even if you think you might be there sign up.
add yourself, cut/copy/paste.

Absolutly, come on down, check out some trucks, if you have any questions, free free to ask. You're also welcome to run in the comp series with us when you get your crawler done.
Everyone's welcome
