Default MNRCRC Comp2 Results & Pics Spring '07

Another great comp! We had a total of 15 competitors, 2 of which were first timers. Welcome. There were also a total of 19 comp trucks and who knows how many scalers too. Thank you to all who showed up, especially concidering the weather. And another thank you goes out to all who helped setup stages, score, and time. I appreciate all the help everyone has been offering lately.

Well enough of the thanks, here's the results ladies.

I thought I did ok for it being my first comp. Switching to tires with weights in them really helped me for the 2nd stage.

Exclamation MNRCRC Spring 2007 Series Standings

Ok, here goes the interesting part... At our meeting in Feb we agreed to try both scoring systems for the Spring Series. There will be a difference in the rankings in each scoring system used. I am posting both versions seperately for this reason.

**Keep in mind that these scores are Total for both Comps. At the end of the Series everyone will waive the score of their worse Comp from their Series Total.

I wasn't around in February so I have a couple of questions:

- is there a thread where this was discussed?
- when/how is it going to be decided which one will be used?

Thanks,

Here is a link to the actual meeting minutes.
any crawlers in MN?

We were thinking of having a vote about midway through the series (maybe after Comp4) to see how everybody feels about both ways. As you can already see there is quite a bit of difference. And then we could even vote in between series if we need to.

Carange!!!

Cole thought it would be a good idea to drive off a wall

And after getting wedged in a rock crevice, I figured more throttle never hurts... I ended up breaking one of Coles custom lexan link mounts, I guess they have a 8000 psi tensile strength?

See what fun all you guys that left missed. It was nice try at a front flip, but ended up landing soaly on the roof

Yep 8000 psi tensile< mikes trigger fingure. Be fair it destroyed the tlt axle housing too, not just the bracket.

5th is way better than I thought after haveing a repair and a rollover onto a gate.

I'd also like to send out a big thank you to all who were able to show. And a big thank you to all who helped. These comps would be about impossible to pull off without peoples help. The weather was almost a repeat of comp #1, it should be getting better and better now each comp
Things went fairly smooth for only our second time running to stages at the same time. We got done pretty early which is nice, but we also were missing 5-6 of our regulars that were racing, it will probably go another hour or so with all the regulars there when no nitro racing is going on (I think only 2 dates overlap)
If anyone's interested? I'll be posting the scoring breakdown tonight, so you can compare last comp (if you ran) and this, or the next, and see how you're doing.
Next MNRCRC comp "The Rumble On The Rocks" is May 20th.

Seems that way. Mike and Ryan I think are the only ones that took pic's?
Mike usually posts a few, then a link to his site with the rest. Ryan usually posts a few, but I haven't seen him on yet.
Hopefully we'll have a few pic's up soon?

You fools will have to wait for my pics, of which I didn't take to many once again.... I found motivation to work on my scale fj40 tonight. Welded up all 4 leaf spring hangers. I am going to layout the shackles next, and cut those out tomorrow along weld welding on the rear shackle hangers. If all goes well, the leaf springs should be fully mounted up tomorrow night. Then I need to figure out how I am going to mount the leaf springs to the axles. Things should go pretty quick after that.

Those look great cole, and would work up front. But in the back, the frame is much wider, and the leafs will sit over the end bolts. I am thinking I will bend a piece of flat steel to fit snug over the entire top of the axle case. That would also give me a surface to weld my anti-wrap bar to.

Diesel has got a thing for timing...

First time up:
-Taylor's is closed, but opens up only a few days after he leaves.
-It was pretty darn cold that week.

This time up:
-3 days after our comp

...watch it f***ing rain.
