no, because the bumper on the hummer/s-10 is was smaller than on the Toaureg/Pajero.

Skippy 04-29-2005 05:43 PM

Ok I dont mind I have a jero. But VJ which one are you building up

PinchFlat 04-29-2005 09:34 PM

So I guess I'll have to return my jero's rear end back to stock and find some non-modded tires to run with you guys. :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff:

HEHEH and Jason I was looking for some 1.9 mashers.

No. That is about 1/4" higher.

i'm building up a S-10

i think bumpers should be taken off because they were designed to keep u from breaking the truck, we want these to be as close to the real things as possible so the bumpers on the bodies should be the only limitations.

Just a thought....

Have any of you ever ran a Tamiya Championship Series? There pretty fun and very competative. This is due to the spec class rules that they enforce.

With the Stock Tamiya class vehicles, you can only use Tamiya Hop Ups. You can only run a battery that costs $xx.xx amount of dollars, you can only run a tamiya motor, and you cannot run an ESC that exceeds $xx.xx amount of dollars. You can run any body you would like and you can modify the vehicle as long as you don't add any parts to it that are not Tamiya fabricated. This would include saucing the tires, tuning motors, etc.....The reason that Tamiya allows for any bodies to be used is that there bodies are all limited runs and become quite rare and expensive to purchase. For example the Tamiya Pajero body is very rare and expensive to replace.

I just throw out these ideas because your all trying to make a spec class and these rules have worked really well for Tamiya for years.

Pinch and I have a Pajero, so we can run whatever you all decide. Should be a fun class :-)

does that mean i can run clod tires on my S-10 because they were made by tamiya?

i like our rules, we all have lathe motors or magnetic mayhems already, and most of us have novak escs already. and stock bodies limits approch angles.

bigfoot 05-02-2005 01:37 AM

just got a Toureg but i also got a pajero body ;-) so i will see you guys there

P.S. can anyone show me how to make a winch? ;-)

kaetwo 05-02-2005 09:09 AM

......

Yes! That means that we could run any hopup for these rigs that we want, as long as there made by Tamiya. Clod tires on the CC01 chassis's would be a perfect example. But don't stop there! Imagine the possibilities of running a Frog chassis with a Hotshot front end. You know the one with the single shock. This would provide a lot more articulation as the front shock allows for A-Arm droop and such. Then we could run the Bruiser rear axel. Again a perfect setup for these small XC rigs.

Vitamin_J - Don't let a X-Country rig with Clod tires scare you :-)

Like I said, you guys come up with the rules and we'll run'em anyway you guys want.

haha, no matter what rules we choose these little trucks are so god-awful off-road that it'll be a blast regardless

bigfoot 05-02-2005 01:26 PM

sounds like a alot of fun  so can we cut the tires? ;-)

:-P .... thanx for the props bro.

that's my little VMG.... It's a pretty decent climber, considering it's about the size of one of my shoes

kaetwo 05-03-2005 08:12 PM

Yo G....

Where does a brother get a set of those 1.9 Mashers? Those would work great when I'm farting around with the Jero and don't have to compete with those tamiya rock hard shatty azz hunks of fargin shat for tires. :-o

Did I just say that?

Anyways.......Utah has a professional soccer team now :-)

Plays_with_Toys 05-03-2005 09:58 PM

Heheh, I thought you'd like those. They are off the minizilla. Santoz said they are a tight squeeze onto the touring car wheels.

sig_p232 05-08-2005 10:03 PM

I really like the idea of running this trials class, and I have been watching this post and see how it goes. The only bummer is the tamiya tires, they suck. I hope this catches on and we start a class that would allow us to use tires and wheels that actually have traction.

For example, I did an 8mm conversion to my rig and use robbe wheels and tires. They are a little shorter then the tamiya tires, but do actually grip stuff.

Anyone seen this truck before? Looks like a S-10/F-150 chassis with a different lexan body and it says it comes with an ESC. Would this be acceptable for comps? I think it would be sweet with a winch and some tow straps hanging off it.

Cool, I may have to order one. ;-)

Does anyone know what ESC it comes with or what chassis it is?
