Default Clif climber, worth the money?

Hey all, I'm really new to crawling, but not RC. I want to get my 9 yr old a crawler and was considering the Cliff climber. Is this a fairly easy rig to control and use in the backyard rock pile??? Any input is appreciated-Thanx

Watch Stormer Hobbies. They have the ARR for $89 and sometimes have the RTR for $139, but they dont stick around for long at that price. I got one of each before Christmas.

They are worth the money, especially for someone just messing around in the back yard. I love mine, although I am putting a lot of money into it now, it is definitely not needed to have a good time with it.

i think the Losi MRC would entertain you for way longer, but it costs about 80 more. I dont have either of them, but thats my opinion.

Default Thanx

I appreciate the input from all, I believe a Cliff Climber is in the running for his 10th b-day this April.

Think of it as the extreme cheapskate crawler's berg equivilent. Its a good car as is, and its a great car to grow in. And if he ever gets really into it, you can make it a competition killer for really cheap. Buying the car is like buying one berg axle. Making it a car that can beat a berg will cost less than buying the second berg axle. I have one and I have convinced two friends to try them out. Good stuff, good stuff.

ok we used to call the cliff climber at our local shop a cliff clunker. but we didnt realize that it is a good little truck if you dont change anything on it and run it how it is. when it comes down to it,.. it is no axial, that is for sure, but it is also a different scale. crawls pretty good for the size though.
