Default Duratraxx rim question...

Hey. I'm new to this and have appreciated all of the informative posts here. Thanks. I have a rim question. I see that some of you have put 2.2 tires on your CC... how did you go about it? I bought some inexpensive rims and drilled them to fit the CC spindle, but there is a small raised section on the spindle that keeps the rim from fitting tight. Since the CC rims are 2.0 size, can I put my 2.2 Proline Hammers on them? It's just a 1/4" difference... won't a little glue keep them on? What about getting the original tires off the rims... I've heard to use Acetone?

I just cut the cone section off of the hexes, and my LCC wheels fit perfectly... and it is exactly the same track width as the LCC now too!

Axial wheels fit on without any modifying. You can pick them up cheap in the for sale section. My sons CC I bought used and the previous owner put some wheels on it and just cut the outer ring off and they fit. I like the axial wheels, you don't have to modify the stock CC hexes so they feel like they fit better.

RC4WD RockRippers fit with no mods. They have more offset than some other wheels, so you get a wider stance. Pretty low cost and are pretty nice wheels.

I mounted a set of Proline Flat Irons onto stock CC wheels for my WK crawler and they have worked flawlessly. Just glue them. As for removing the stock tires, tower sells the wheels so cheap why not just have a second set of wheels?tires layin around. You can never have too many mounted sets of tires

I used 2.2 rovers on my stock cc wheels and they work great. As for removing the stock tires, 300 degrees for 40 minutes in the oven and they came off easy.
