Default spot the mistake(s) in steering set up

here's a quick video I made showing what my steering setup is doing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6JV4M0ErrE

This is for my FORD crew cab so its got the narrowed axles, narrowed on the viewers left side.

Got the metal yoke on and the drive line seems to be holding fine now. Took it out w/o body just to see if it would crawl over rocks fine. It did, mostly.

Its doing the following though:
1) driving straight I turn the wheel to the left and truck stops dead in its tracks. It does it if I am barely feeding throttle and its creeping forward, first hint of left turn stops it dead.
btw-right side is the narrowed axle side (left to the viewer.

2) noticed the right front wheel sometimes doesnt turn, like the axle isnt locked but I put a pin through the inner axle/diff housing so it should be locked. Maybe its the tire spinning on the wheel, I didnt notice.

3) holding the rig off the ground and I feed it throttle while turning [viewers] right the front axle it hops back to center and out to the right back and forth...

do you think these are all related to an issue of the inner axle being cut a bit too short and not seating in the drive cup?

any other theories?

ugh. this is the painful, noob part where I just dont know where to start if something goes wrong...there are SO MANY things I am unfamiliar with on this build-chassis mounted servo, narrowing axles, the brat wheels modified to fit 12mm hexes that I dont know where to start...

any ideas are appreciated!

just a guess here, from a noob, But My first guess would be the shaft not seating on the cup. I had a nylint jeep that would do the same thing.
right turn and it jams, could be the knuckle binding.

the pins on the drive shaft should be perfectly in line with the pins that hold the steering knuckle to the axle C...

if they are not, that is why it is doing that...

Here is a crappy paint pic to explain...

the wheel issue is definitely due to the pins not seating in the drive cup. just look at how they are barely in there with the wheels straight.

I ran the test on throttle and when I manually turned the knuckle the pins popped out of the cup and locked up the cup turning.
well, now I just wait till I have time to access a drill press to correct the axle length. thats gonna be a bit of time unfortunately...

on a positive note, panhard solved the chassis movement 100%! no movement at all when the servo operates the wheels.

the mounts are temporary just to test it. will have to cut down the alum mount at chassis or make one out of steel (preferred).

Yeah not having that axle lined up is no doubt certainly the cause.

Glad I could help you with the Panhard.
