You need to program it to brushed mode. If it kicks you out of programming right before you get to that step, you have an old controller that needs updating.

Read the manual that came with it, it is all in there. Or here- http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...s_ed_guide.pdf |

Still looks to me like it's setup for brushless with it doing that. You did make sure you clicked the "Update" button when you changed the settings didn't you? Either that or maybe it's getting some bad interferance from the antenna wire somewhere. |

I had the same problem with my WK after installing a Sidewinder. All I did was put my receiver and antenna at the back of the vehicle and the power related items at the front. Done! I also had the problem with the Sidewinder coming setup for brushless, but it didn't act the way that yours is acting. Actually lmost nothing would happen. However, do yourself a favor and buy the castle link for $20. Good luck. |

That's still in brushless mode. If you can't get to option 9 you have an old version. Call castle and tell them about it. Get a castle link and it'll fix it. I bought two like that within 24 hours of each other.. Talk about being pissed.

| I didn't realize you didn't have the Castle Link. I figured when you said you had it tuned you meant you had the link. To me it looks like it's still setup for brushless.

I have a sidewinder in my slash. Buy the link for 20 bux it is well worth it. You can do much more customizing with it. The guide that came with the sidewinder is pretty straight foward but it is a PITA.

So i have one of these and i was going to set it up with a castle link eventually but i wanted to take it out of brushless mode and put it in brushed mode so i could test my wiring. How would you do it without being able to hear the beeps from the brushless motor if you are trying to set it up for brushed? Is there a sequence the lighting goes through also? Shouldnt that be documented as well? |

So just to satisfy my own curiosity i tried it, the yellow light in the middle will flash what should be beeping, the step you are on and the current option, if you deny the selected option the red light will flash, when you accept the option the green light will flash and you will move on to the next step in the programming, brushed ftw!! |

Yeah, once you figure that out, it's not hard, just drawn out.
