| Novak Super Duty XR High Voltage ESC
Just received my RC4wd Ridgeblade crawler and was thinking about getting this esc since the super rooster is now discontinued. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXJAC0&P=K Just wondered what your thoughts are on this.

It's a good ESC. Had it in my txt crawler, so far no problems.

Thats good to know. It seems like you don't hear too much about this ESC so I decided to see if anyone else has had any luck with it. Thanks.

have had one since they came out, and has given me no problems. The double pump thing takes a few runs to really get used to it, but once you do you will never want to go back to a plain old rooster or super rooster.

seems like way overkill for assumed intenets and purposes. You could nearly buy two Rebel 2's for that price and you would have the same level of performance for a crawler. This however would be a good choice if you want to run either 14 cells or dual hot modified motors.. |

Best ESC I have ever used. The brake feature is awesome. You will not be dissapointed. |

it's a good one. the double-pump reverse takes a bit of getting used to, and it's a bulky SOB, but the pros outweigh the cons. the 3A BEC is nice and beefy and there's plenty of juice available. easy to mod for 6-cell operation without opening the case (Novak even gives you instructions). Novak quality is hard to beat, too. there's even a little port to plug in a cooling fan. two thumbs up.

I know it may sound like overkill..... but it sounds like people have good reviews about it. I think i will go with it and see what happens. Thanks for your advice.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to run one as well. I just think its power handling is unnecessary for a crawler, and that seems to jack the price up to excessive levels, thats all. Its like buying a gallon of water when all you needed was a bottle. You'll likely NEVER trash it, though! |
