Default Sidewinder - NO Reverse?? - Tips?!

Just bought an HPI Motiv from a member, which is the CC Sidewinder.
NO Reverse!
I know there are dozens of posts like this, but I have read and tried most of the fixes I saw posted. Yes, it is set for fwd/brake/rev.

Running 10 Ellite 2/3a cells
Futaba 3PM (also have a T3PDF) [I have tried both Tx's]
Novak Synth Rx (I have tried two of them)

No matter what changes I make with the Castle Link or on the 3PM Tx, I cannot get this thing to have reverse?
  • I have had some issues with it bonding with the Rx. Like if I try switching the red and black motor leads and TH REV on the radio.
  • Sometimes when it trys to BOND, it won't with the throttle pulled to Fwd, but will only start to bond with it in Rev?
  • Even when it does bond correctly, it acts like it is set up to be Forward only with brake. And acts like Drag Brake is set to zero.
Casltle link recognizes it as a Sidewinder. With it I have tried the following:
  • Adjusting from Fwd/Brake/Rv to Proportional w/Reverse lockout
  • Adjust brake amout to 0, 50, 100
  • Adjust punch control to 0, 50, 100
  • Adjust reverse throttle to 50, 100
  • Adjust punch control to 0, 10, 100
  • Adjust drag brake to 0, 100
  • Start power and motor timing do NOT show up.
  • Neutral timing - from low, average, long
  • Firmware from 1.18 to 1.21 to the newest Beta
Also when it does turn the motor Fwd, it seems to hum for the first 25% of the throttle and then kicks into a moderate RPM right away.

I believe a setting on the radio might be the culprit. On the Futaba 3PM I have adjusted:
  • Th EPA from 100 to 120%
  • ATL (Brakes)
  • Th Reversing
  • Exponential Th
The seller swears it worked fine with his brushed motor, in a basher.
Is this fried?

Any input on adjustments to try is appreciated.

Here is a pic of the Futaba 3PM main settings.

Settings for two of my rigs are noted in red if they do not match the defaults.
First number is my BMV with Novak Crawler ESC and R2D trans on ch3.
Second number (after the slash [/]) is my CC with Novak Superduty and Micro servo dual dig switches.

The CC is what I was trying the Motiv (Sidewinder) in.

What stands out to me in these settings is the ATL and throttle trim.
Thoughts?

It's got to be the ATL setting!
When set to full 0, I get nothing with the Novak SuperDuty either.
Set to 100%, I get full reverse.

Crap, and I sent the thing back to the seller today!

Please chime in if you know this radio and and explain ATL.

From what I can tell, its a throttle trim issue. If you have got trim zero'd, then recalibrating the ESC probably would have fixed your issue. Too bad you sent it back.
EDIT: Missed your last post.
