programming castle sidewinder w/out link for brushed i did not want to spend the $20 on the link, thinking i could just program it manually. im running brushed and im reading its set to brushless by default. am i going to have to have the link to program it correctly? |
it will be easier but you dont "need" it. the instructions should walk you through the steps. programmed mine this way before i got the link. |
manual programing starts at p20 http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...s_ed_guide.pdf the motor needs to be connected to the esc to be able to hear the 'beeps'. i don't know how they do it, but the sounds come from the motor. save your pennies and get the link when you can, life will be much more pleasant with it. |
You dont hear any beeps when you got a brushed motor connected until you get it set to brushed mode. If you want 100% drag brake then you'll need the Castle Link otherwise your stuck with 40% max. |
Out of curiosity, does anybody know how they make a motor beep? I tried a google search, but couldn't find anything. |

I have only programmed mine one time. I set the reverse at 100% with and the punch controll I think I set it on off. I hope this helps give you a starting point. |
