Default Weird reciever problem...

I just got my sportsman rig finished up and wired, i turned it on and i thought the servo was fried. The servo is getting what seems like very little power, and almost no throw. But if i plug it in to channel 2 and try and steer with the throttle lever it seems fine... The receiver is almost new, and its also for a HobbyKing controller and don't want to wait for a new receiver if i don't have to. I did try rebinding it, with no luck. Any ideas guys?

Nah, their is only trim, however when the servo is plugged into channel 1 (where it seems to get very little power), i can use the trim to make the servo move faster and farther then with the steering wheel on the controller.... could something internal could have happened?

Sounds like it. Maybe a pot went bad or was bad to start with.

The controller has always worked great, ive never had a problem with it until now. If i open up the controller is their something i should look for that might be a noticeable problem?

Probably not unless it was a catastrophic failure that really cooked something.

Did you try another servo? Its a cheap and easy test...

Nope. I just had the radio apart, no burnt, ripped, or broken wires. Maybe its the steering pot? I wonder if i can get a replacement?

what radio is it? Does it have a frame rate option, if so try adjusting it. On my DX3R some servos don't work or work like crap if your FR isn't correct. I have to run on Low FR ,16.5, on some of my Hitecs, and other's will run on MED. same servo don't see why they would be different but whatever they seem to work just fine and dandy once I get them dialed in.

It does not have frame rate. Its just a cheapo 2.4ghz hobby king radio. I found a steering pot on ebay that looks almost identical to the one in the controller, so i might order a couple and see if i can get it working good again.

Alright, so this morning i did a little more testing. I wired the steering pot into where the throttle rocker is wired to and put the servo to channel 2 on the receiver. Everything worked as normal, so the steering pot is not the problem. The problem is either in channel 1 on the receiver or in channel 1 in the remote. Any more ideas how i could do some tests to figure out what the problem is?

The throttle is also half assed while pluged into channel 1. However, couldnt it be the controller sending a bad/weak signal to channel 1?
