Default what's needed on a radio for a scaler

I have built a radio for an moa but i think i short circuited the rx because it won't bind, works fine on the simulator though. and now i want to build a more basic radio. I was considering something for a scaler. What type of switches and stuff would be ideal for a scaler radio, i was thinking your standard wheel and trigger channels, 2 3 pos switches, a return to center stick (like a off of a stick radio) and a normal potentiometer which will not return to center. If you have any other ideas here's what i have to work with

4 physical channels,
two virtual channels that i can program them as a mix to a pot or a switch
3 available mixs, one if i do 6 channels
and i have epas and trim that is controlled by a pc (no screen) or i can add physical pots to control those
or and its all going to be in a TQ case

Bump, what do i need to operate everything on a scaler, lights, winch, possibly a shift able tranny, and what ever else. Also what other features on a radio, i know of trim and epas, i can also do dual rates, is there anything else. I don't have a scaler now but i plan on getting one and a few other people who are going to build one and that i probably build them a radio also
