I left a 2s pack connected in my scaler once. Here is how I brought it back to life.... Set your charger to nimh setting and it's lowest charge rate Watch the voltage meter on your charger until it reaches the minimum for the pack, 2s = 6v, 3s = 9v Once it comes to that voltage and holds there for a bit stop charging Reset your charger to lipo charge at about .5 amp Keep an eye on the balancing and volts on your charger After 20 minutes or so increase the charge to 1 amp Slowly increase the charge rate, once the pack is charged then run it as if breaking in a new pack I hope this help as it worked great for me. I thought I had destroyed a $70 pack but it has been going strong for more than a year now. |

Another way I learned after leaving a LiPo plugged in was to "jump" it. If you have another with the same mah and c rating that is fully charged, you can make a jumper and connect the two together for 10 seconds. It will borrow power from the charged battery and bring it back to life. Worked for me Be sure to wear gloves and safety glasses when doing this though, you never know about lipo's. http://socalrcrc.org//threads/3576-L...ght=#post32814 Hope this helps. |

I would use the charger method. You don't need to worry about taking it off right at 3v/cell though. You can charge it up until it hit's the 4.2v/cell but it's still not a great idea. The voltage will settle a little bit though so I'd wait and take it off at 11 or 11.5v total for the pack. Then switch it over to a lipo charge. The lipo and the charger don't know what is plugged in until it hit's the 4.2v/cell. With a NiMh it will keep charging at that charge rate but the LiPo charge will drop amperage and just top off the capacity. So as long as you pull it off before it reaches full voltage, you're ok. It is still not a very good practice to have to get into but it is something you can do. |

I ran my first lipo all the way down the first time I used it. It was a $140 pack and I tried the above method. It all appeared good. Got every thing charged, life looked good again. Lucky I put it in corning ware bowl that night in the garage away from everything and when I came out in the morning I had a stinky pile of ashes & a pretty miffed wife that lost a nice cooking bowl Personally I would dispose of the pack, its not worth the risk! | |
