I heard its junk, what are you trying to do?

16hp 11-01-2010 08:11 PM

i just want a simple 2.4 rx & tx with a true 3 position 3rd ch. with EPA's to operate my dig servo. i have a new traxxas 4 ch., but learned that the toggle is not a 3 position (for single servo) and has no EPA's.

Is it really junk?

16hp 11-01-2010 08:57 PM

Hold the phone, i think i just found a solution. Electronics guys are the bomb!

Will look into this more. Interested in how it works. i guess you adjust the three pots with the toggle on the RX?

ive got the xr4....For the price it is well worth it, have not had a single problem with it and I like the location of the 3rd channel switch much more than like the dx3e"thumbsup"

The Radio doesn't have EPA's on the 3rd and 4th Channel... So if you ran running a Digital Servo on those Channels. You will need one of these..

http://www.servocity.com/html/180o_servo_stretcher.html

So for a Super..
Channel 3 can be used with a PUNK DIG
Channel 4 use this with a Rear Steering Servo

For a XR10
Channel 3 PunkDig
Channel 4 Use this and a Servo for Cutting Brakes.

I have been using this on my 1.9 Comp Rig. No Problems at all. Feels nice in the hand and controls very easy.

For $10 more and instock. The XR4 would be better.

tuf-gmh 11-03-2010 02:34 AM

do they do the same thing as the other 1??? sorry a little new 2 this all

tuf-gmh 11-03-2010 03:08 AM

so i kinda worked it out i think! i would wanna run my rear steer off channel 3! so it does the same as the other remote! and off channel 4 a i can run a punk dig! im lookin at up grade my steerin servos as i just broke mine! so i need a new 1 and now im gunnna do rear steer so i need 2. been lookin at these http://www.enjoyhobbies.biz/servo/cy...tal-gear-servo

and am i right in sayin i wont need 1 of those servo stretchers like above??? cause them servos arent digital are they??

The XR4 will do everything the Radio will do you posted. But gives one more channel.

The XR4 would give you 4WS and DIG...

If you have a Shafty you would need two of those Servo Stretchers. If you running a MOA. You should only need one to run the Rear Servo for Rear Steer.

tuf-gmh 11-03-2010 03:42 AM

so if u run my rear steer off channel 3 it will work like the other control! and i can use channel 4 for a dig set up! im not runnin digital servos so i shouldnt need a servo stretcher like mentioned above?

im gunna run a 5 amp bec. how will all this go on normal batterys as i dont run lipos yet?? im runnin a MOA

Correct, but it's always a good idea to have EPA's.

That won't change a thing.

tuf-gmh 11-03-2010 03:48 AM

so its recommmend i run at least 1? so they just stop the servo from going 2 far?

i give the wantAsummit adaptor a thumbs up! "thumbsup"

i have a tq2.4 4ch (use it on my summit) and wanted to use the radio for my venom creeper with dig and remote diff lock. the adaptor works perfect for getting a true 3-pos 4th channel. if you already have the radio it's worth the $30 versus a whole new radio.
