| Tekin Rebel II Fried?
Running my crawler around today and it glitched out on me. Reset the ESC and it would run and then cut off. Now I can't get any forward/reverse out of it and the red light on the ESC will not come on. My CC BEC is still good and steering servo still work. Here are the specs: Tekin Rebel II ESC CC BEC Hitec 645MG 3s Lipo 11.1v 2000mah, 20c JR XR3 Radio. Did I cook it? Thanks guys. Zack |

Do you know the motor is still good?? Maybe it died or needs work. Did you try the steering servo in the ESC port on the RX, maybe that is the issue. |

The Motor is a holmes hobbies 35turn torquemaster. I'm pretty sure its not the motor as the Red light that tells you if the ESC is on or not...is off. Tried plugging it into a different port on the RX but still no go.

I have an older one too, and from what you describe it sounds like a connection has come undone, either externally (battery plugs) or internally. start with the battery first, and test connections on down the line to make sure that the unit is getting power. Take the back off and make sure there isn't a solder joint that has broken loose from the board, etc.

well, took the back off of the ESC, looks like a positive and negative wire popped off, arced and blew the insides to pieces Oh well, 20 bucks for it wasn't bad. Now, what ESC should I spend my money on? |

| Are you sure it's fubar? What if you resolder the popped connections? If it IS done, and you want a versatile brushed AND brushless esc I'd go with a sidewinder or mamba max pro.

It's not salvageable, both wires arced together and it blew one of the connections clean off the circuit board. As far as New ESC's go, I was looking at either the FXR or the BR-XL. Any recommendations..running 3s |

| I'd go BR-XL, especially if you might try more than 3S someday. If you're on a budget, John sometimes has "rejects" for sale which are basically just botched waterproofing jobs, still work like new.

Already ordered it. I wasn't getting enough wheelspeed and I'm running one of his 35t handwounds. Positive it was the ESC holding it back. ESC would get pretty hot, oh well I've wasted 20 bucks on worse things. Can't wait to get this BRXL and do away with my exterior LVC and BEC. Will clean up the wiring a lot. |

If I hadn't just picked up a used LCC that came with a goat 3s system I'd be getting a br-xl for my 35T handwound.. btw, the brushless setup has crazy wheelspeed. I may not want to go back to brushed.
