I am curious, how many have you smoked FXR's? Do you have pics? Tell me about what happened. I really don't want to hear anything else just stop in and tell me if you have smoked one.

i smoked my FXR by not noticing that the capicitor had popped off one of the leads.

the wire snapped from me ham fisting the electronics during a reorganization...

plugged in the battery, and sat there like a dumbass "why wont it turn on?"

then 30seconds later... "whats that smell?"

I have five FXRs, two are Pros.
Never smoked one of them.
I even dumped my rig in a mall fountain, 16" deep in the pool. Pulled it out, shook it off and kept going.
Only ESC I ever cooked was a MM, but I was purposely pushing it's limits and I still use CC's stuff too.

Smoked the only and last FXR I ever got, cause I didn't see the the cap pop off.
I have also smoked a lehner brushless controller in a 50+V cat. Excessive amp draw.

I smoked the first FXR I bought in 2 minutes on the kitchen floor. It was part of the bad batch, Tekin replaced it, and haven't had any issue with any of the 6 I've had since then

the capicitor position is a horrible design IMHO.

waay too easy to have it pop and have no idea WTF is wrong until the majic smoke gets out...

i dont have a crawler right now for this reason.

im freggin out of the sport until HH gets his torquemasters in.

Ive had a MM smoked on me for no reason. CC did a great job with sevice.

I smoked 2 stock Mini LST ESC's, they're junk ESC's though. I also killed a Novak SS, but I didn't exactly smoke it, more like I got it wet then broke it in half. I've had a handful of MM's, no problems there, I also have 2 FXR's which I've had no problems with and I've had them for well over a year. Actually, I broke the cap off one of them at least a year ago and I've continued to use it, no problems at all. I've dunked them in a drainage ditch, they've taken some hard falls, plenty of abuse and no problems.

Knock on wood my FXR hasn't had any problems. I smoked my Goat a few months ago, but I ran that for over a year with no problems and no CC bec. The night before a comp I was checking to make sure everything was good to go and *POOF*

2 Sidewinders,2 Mamba 25's.....couple Super Roosters and old Tekins back in the day before going to Mamba's

Kinda leery of anything less than a Mamba Max honestly.

I Smoked a CC sidewinder and am waiting to fireup the FXR in my Bully as soon as I get a few more pieces in. I did get 4 B1R's from Jim at Tekin, for the CORA, Kids crawlers and have NO issues with them even after a ton af kids have bashed with insanity on them.

I thought the one I was working with (on a buddys rig that was working like $hit) was smoked-- tuned out the thing was just overheating. Apparently they don't like to be both the ESC & BEC when a 3C Lipo is hooked to them. I hooked up a CC BEC between the battery & RX & switched the FXR's swith to 'off'-- works great!

We were all ready to replace it before that-- got the answer on the FXR thread.

I voted other. I have smoked 2 Mamba 25's. One was user error the other was a faulty controller.

I have been using Tekin, 4 FXR's, an R1 and an RS for the past year without trouble.

1 fxr, brand new, had a short in forward amp. Tekin replaced.

I smoked a cap on a FX-R in about 20 seconds. Had a internal problem. Tekin replaced.

I had an FXR go out on me in flat ground. No smoke, just completely shut off. Tekin replaced it, no problems.
