| Can I run brushless (blew my stock motor)
So I was out crawling this afternoon (BEAUTIFUL DAY) and just before we finished trailing my motor died on the final incline. The motor I was using was a Tamiya silver can motor. Now, I have a Castle Sidewinder V2 ESC/motor combo (CMS5700) on the way. Now, I know it's a brushless motor and not made for crawling, but I needed an ESC ASAP and the only Sidewinder they had in stock at the distributer was the ESC/motor combo. If the LHS doesn't have any silver cans or motors in, can I run the brushless until they do? I'm using a pretty much stock CC01 (I know to be careful because the gears are nylon). I'm just concerned about cogging with the motor. Does anyone know how badly this motor will cog when trailing?

That 5700 will be uncontrollable and have no low end control in that truck.

That's what I was kind of afraid of too. I hope I can swap the 5700 for a 45t or something in the shop

How much does that motor retail at? I saw somewhere that Castle Creations 5700kv motor was 119 but that can't be right because the combo cost 110. I was thinking of picking up a Novak 45t/55t.

Alright, I'll try my best to get $85 worth of parts for it.

This may be a motor that some of the FOFF guys are looking for, it may not be too hard to get rid of. I have seen this same motor in a SC truck, its insane fast, like 45mph and out of control. It would be funny in a scaler.....till the tires ballooned out and exploded.

The 5700 is a great motor and very desirable. I ran one in my modified pede with great success. You probably won't get 85 for it but somewhere in the 65-70 range seems reasonable. You should have no problem unloading it.
