| EVX vs EVX2, Motor limit on EVX????
So the new EVX2 from traxxas is available now, it seems to be a MUCH nicer ESC, 6v 2.5A BEC instead of 5v 1.5A, 14 cell input instead of 12cell, 12turn motor limit instead of 19, etc.... But anyone know what the lowest turn single motor is that you can run off a original EVX with 12cell input? Does it change from single to duals? It's going in my Stadium truck, so it won't have the weight of the E-Maxx, not sure if that helps a ton or not... Any input or experience would be great, thanks. |

My guess is about a 8-10 turn single motor as a max for the original evx. Problem is an 8-10 turn motor runs too fast with 12 cells. |

I have an EVX-2. I sent in my old orange Novak EVX for repair and got the new EVX-2 and you can't run a jumper to use only 1 pack with the EVX-2 according to what Traxxas told me. So in my opinion the old Novak EVX was alot nicer due to having an option of running a jumper so you can use a single pack for dual motors. Also I believe the lowest turn motor the EVX-2 will handle is 10 turns and it also states that on Traxxas's site.

I think I might try to find a 12T to run off 12 cells, see how it goes. I am going to put it all together today. |

I'll test one for max voltage and to see if it needs 2 packs. My guess is that it can use 1 pack just like the evx can and has a similar max voltage. Too bad I only have one to test.

You have to jump one of the battery terminals just like the original EVX, I forget which side it is. | |
