7 cell limit. So nothing more than a 2c lipo.

Ok, Was going to post a new thread but then found this one. I picked up a crawler from ebay that has a tazer 15t ESC in it. The crawler came with a 2c lipo and a nimh, When I run the nimh it runs realy good. When I put the lipo on it, and hammer the throttle it shuts down. I loose the stearing servo and everything, I have to unplug and replug the lipo...so I ran it around nice and slow, crawled with for about 5 minutes and ran fine...so I hammered it again and it shut down. I put the nimh in it and hammered it and it didn't shut down...can anyone tell me why the lipo shuts down my esc but not the nimh..both were peaked charged then ran.....

and I am going to get a tekin as soon as I melt this esc..

You might be hitting the voltage cutoff on the ESC if the batt isn't charged up (ie. if you are charging it with a non-lipo charger)

Thumbs down

Running a 2 cell lipo below 6 volts will damage the battery, And never try to charge a lipo with a charger that is not made for one, it will burn your
house down . (KNOCKING ON WOOD)

I should of said, yes the Lipo was charged with a lipo charger. Did some research before I purchased my charger. I picked up one that will do both Nimh and Lipos. So I am charging my batteries properly, thanks to maxamps.com. Now, problem still is there. Did it again today, just to see if I was making stuff up...any more thoughts??

I should add that I picked up a balancer as well. I am not new to RC, just have been gone for a while.

thanks again for the responses.

My guess would be the Tazer. They don't have the best reputation for crawler's applications.

Figured as much, It came with the crawler when I picked it up....now I'm trying to kill it and pick up a tekin. Thinking about putting a 3c Lipo to it for about 5 minutes while the wheels are jammed...think that will do it??? course might F'up my motor..don't want to do that.
