| Beware the clones!
I've got a real Futaba MC330CR in my electric stadium truck that works great and has given me no troubles, so when I needed a new ESC for another project I took a gamble and bought one of the MC330CR clones sold on eBay out of Hong Kong like this one... Well, let me tell you, they are clones only in appearance. The circuit board is a totally different design that looks like it was put together by a 10 year old (maybe it was - after all, it was made in China). Throttle response was not very good - very little low speed control, and worse of all it died the first time I used it when I crashed my buggy. I presume the crash knocked something loose inside that was not properly soldered. I guess you get what you pay for. I know a few of you are using the Moped ESC which is probably also a knock-off of a brand name unit also made in China. I hope you have better luck with that one than I did. This was my first and last knock-off speed control. |

Sorry about the prob man and thanks for the heads up. I was looking at one of those a couple of months back but like you said you get what you pay for and I went with a rooster.

My sister has that same ESC in her rusty. It is garbage. Hopefully, she'll get one that doesn't over heat after 5 minutes of running a properly-geared 19t revolution.

i bought one of these too for my truck. it seemed to be a great deal at first. now it doesn't want to move the truck up over any obstacle. it will drive the truck to the obstacle then just sit there and... well it looks like the truck is trying to hump the rock, jerky motion, but it won't push it over. i've tried different batteries with still the same result. all it's running is one lathe motor and one 1/4 scale servo Last edited by xtremraptor; 04-28-2006 at 02:01 AM. |

The eBay seller confirmed that these things have no warranty so I put it on eBay as sort of a public service warning. Check it out and let me know what you think.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6056128156 |

Haha, nice auc. Well, can anyone link me to a Moped ESC? I want one for my friend's TLT, and it's just as good and has a decent BEC that can handle 4WS.
