Default WTF? Throtle bumps reverse when only steering

When using the steering servo only, the throttle will bump in reverse.??? I made some brackets that hold my receiver (balooned)and my xl5 esc well up into the body, although I've ran my rig through creeks and such, the water has never been deep enough to reach them. My steering servo has been dipped in plasti-dip, but could water penitration in this servo cause this problem?. Where should I try to attack this problem? thanks for any input.

What radio?
What ESC?
What steering servo?
Did it always do this, or is this recent?
Do you run an external BEC to the servo? If so, is it through the RX or direct to the servo??
Have you tried different batteries??

The radio, receiver, and servo are all Losi, the esc is a traxxas xl-5, everything runs off the battery alone. It just started this, like I said the receiver has never been in water nor the speed controll, I did recently remove the motor for cleaning.

Does it still do it with the steering servo unplugged?
Did you try a different battery, or, charge your current battery?

I had a similar problem with my Fly Sky GT3B. If I turned the wheel to hard it would engage the motor.
I'm guessing it was a short in the steering pot.
I've since replaced the radio with a 4PL and have had no problems since.

Mine is doing the same thing and I found out it's the servo. It was really hot and now it's sticking once in awhile and very weak going in one direction.

I did what you said and it was the servo, thanks, all the reason to buy a high torque.

1-Sorry you have to get another servo.
2-Glad you seem to have resolved the issue.
