Default lose Steering

This is on a SCX10 with the stock AE1 speed controller, no BEC. Spectrum DX3C with the SR300 receiver that came with it. Servo is a Hitec 645mg.

Every so often the steering is reduced or it doesn't steer altogether. If I reset the model and reset the endpoints all is good. Could it be a weak servo or possible a poor internal voltage let-through of the speed controller? I suppose it could be the transmitter but the set-up doesn't change and it doesn't seem to act weird in any other respect.

try using a capacitor from spektrum part number spm1600, maybe the rx could be wanting to brown out and that is causing the problem the capacitor plugs into any open port in the rx and holds a small amount of extra juice so that when the servo and motor are asking for more than what can be provided by the esc it does not loose reception.

I was thinking it may have something to do with the esc. I have an AE2 in another truck I was going to put in this one and replace the AE2 with something else. I think I'll try the AE2 with a BEC and see what happens. 2S lipo might also help over the 6 cell packs I was using on it.
