I hope that helps to clarify things a little.
Only FXR's don't automatically detect the cell count on a battery.

Ok guys, let's settle this.

The FXR does not auto-detect the voltage of any pack, nor set it's own LiPo cutoff. LVC 1 is off, LVC 2 is 6V (2s) and LVC 3 is 9V (3s). LVC 4 is custom cutoff, which is set in the HotWire. A proper voltage cutoff for a 2S battery would be 6.0V or higher and 9.0V or higher for a 3S. Setting the custom LVC to 3.6V would mean it would not cutoff power to the motor until the battery voltage dipped below 3.6V.

It does not do it per cell and it certainly isn't magical. Are you 100% sure that after you set the custom LVC through the HotWire that it didn't somehow end up on LVC 3 for 9V cutoff? That is the only way it would work.

Sounds good enough for me....sorta goes along with my comment & the manual I linked.

I will "assume" (yes, I know what that means) that the ESC goes by the "custom setting" and then decides if it fits a 1S, 2S, 3S, etc. PACK minimum voltage.)

Just saying.

It's been so long ago that I set the LVC that I forgot how to do it. Getting old is hard on one's memory.

Nope it's set on "custom". I'll redo it though in the a.m. now that it's settled by mouth of Tekin. Much appreciated. I don't know how it's been working, but it has.

+1..... I'm going to have to look at mine as well, I "thought" I used something like 3.2VPC..... I don't know.
