Default servos servos servos?

So I have been looking for a new steering servo. I have a couple 645's but that are getting old and weak. I dont really want to spend a whole lot, so I have narrowed it down to a couple, I would like to know what you guys think.

savox sc-0251
jr 791 retract servo,
futaba s3051
hobbico cs-150

I went all the way on my last servo Hitec HS-7980TH, and couldn't be happier!
Spendy but worth every penny!

well they both seem like good servos, if I ever need 600 oz's I know what to buy. I am kind of on a budget.

What is your intended use? What kind of rig?

For 2.2 comp I would recommend 300+oz if you are just messing around, if you are serious about comping 350+oz is in my opinion required...400+ is desirable.

For scalers it depends on the weight but you can get away with a lot less. I would say 200+ is a good place to be if you want good performance without spending much.

Not anymore!

HiTec 7950TH is what you need.

Definitely not the retract servo.

very happy with my sc0251 on my honcho, granted thats using 1.9's and running the servo at 7v with a cc bec. Works great and runs cool so the voltage is all good, I found a spec sheet on savox's int website a while ago that spec'd it good to 7.2v. Been running it for a total of 20hrs like this and it is fast and strong on my setup.

I have spent more with buying multiple cheap/reasonable servos again and again. Then when I finally bought a 7950, never looked back. Plus they stand by their products. I killed one, drove it to death, sent it in for repair. Couldn't fix it, sent me a new one at no cost.

The 0251 servo is larger than standard size and all metal geared. Very strong for the value which I believe $40 is the most he wants to spend, i get approx 255oz at 7v and it's fast.

edit and it's digital. Is the futaba servo the s3051hv high voltage version.....only 158oz at 7.4v.

i has a cs-150 on my sportsman truck and it lasted all of 20 mins before it stripped out. The cs-170 on the other hand is a very solid servo for the money been beating the hell out of one for a few years now not missing a beat. Id say go that way, but have also been pretty happy with my cheapo towerpro mg996r on my scaler strong gears and only 10 - 15 bucks since i use my scaler in water a lot i never really wanted to spend much on a servo, been holding up great all summer being abused.
