| Novak SuperRooster VS Traxxas XL-5
Hey guys, I just recieved a used xl5 for a little side project. I mentioned this to a buddy of mine who suggested replacing my SuperRooster (in my scale crawler) with the xl5. I just assumed the SuperRooster was a "better" esc because of the higher amp outputs and higher voltage inputs and motor limits... But am I wrong? Thanks guys! |

The XL-5 can do a 3S lipo and a 35 turn motor all day long in a scaler, like the SR, so it's a matter of choice in my opinion. The brakes are different. The XL-5 is double pump instead of the somewhat instant reverse of the Super Rooster. I always did like the SR brake. It was strong. Then when the tires stopped it would go into reverse. You had to learn how to control that. XL-5 needs the double pump, so you don't get that occasional almost unsuspected reverse. |

if you have a non-waterproof xl5 go with the super rooster (i love mine over my xl5) but if its waterproof go with the xl5 imo
