Default remoivng a cell

I have a duratrax custom 6 cell battery pack with an individual battery voltage of 1.497. i just got my moped esc yesterday and it was the voltage range is 4.8-8.4v. i know my battery pack is 9. question is, will i be ok running 9 votls when the range is only 8.4? also could i just take out a battery from the back, so i would only have 5 and putting out only 7.5 volts?

how could your battery pack be 9 volts if there are only 6 cells?

6 cell=7.2 volts
7 cell=8.4 volts
8 cell=9.6 volts
and so on.

A six cell pack is rated at 7.2 volts (1.2 volts per cell for NiCd or NiMH) even though it is higher than that when it is fully charged. Your ESC is rated to handle four to seven cells. It will be fine with six cells.
