First, what vehicle, I'm guessing some sort of Axial RTR? What terrain are you running in, are you stalling the motor?

Wraith Roller
Full Drag brake
Rocks/Trails
Sidewinder ESC

You should go to a bigger spur. Too much load for a 27T motor.

What motor? If it is a racing can motor it prolly has advanced timing, which, since this is a Wraith, I assume you are running backwards to make the Wraith go forward. If the motor is running backwards the timing is now retarded and the motor is working extra hard.

ya it is a race can. ok so can i advance the timing on the sidewinder? or should i get a new motor ?

Just clock the endbell on the motor so that the timing is advanced for the proper direction of rotation.

I don't know, some motors you can adjust the timing on, other ROAR 27T motors are non-adjustable. If it has screws holding the endbell on you can pull the brushes out, remove the endbell and spin it 180 degrees. When you put it back together the timing will be correct for reverse rotation. You need to make sure you turn it exactly 180 degrees.

Or if the endbell is screwed on you can just turn it to the zero timing mark.

I don't think you can compensate with the ESC.

Counterclockwise for a regular vehicle and fixed timing cans. The wraith is clockwise looking at the pinion.
