| Opinions on HH Torquemaster Sport Motors
Hey guys was wondering what you think of these motors performance wise, Ive been running RC4WD motors and they haven't been very good torque wise for my very heavy CC-01. There 65T struggles to pull my rig out of a ditch, so I was wondering what your thoughts are on these motors, they are also in my price range. Opinions/thoughts. Thanks |

Holmes Hobbies Torque Master Pro or Crawl Master Pro with the BR-XL is the best you can get for your Crawler! Dont waste your money on anything else.

I've got a 35T in my AX-10, and another in my SCX. Good reliable motors in my book. Seem to have a little more sack than the 35T Integy's they replace, and also better low speed control. For the money, I'm very happy with them. I must have fifteen hours of use on my SCX one, including a lot of submersion, and it is almost ready for a brush replacement. |

I guess my 1st 2 questions are: 1-What ESC are you currently running? 2-What battery are you running? (chemistry, cell count & "C" rating if a LiPO) A smaller LiPO battery with a low "C" rating will piss you off when max power is needed. For the MRC, I run a 2S 325mah 65C pack, for my 2.2 MOA I run a 3S 1350mah 40C pack. If you are running a 2000mah+ pack, the "C" rating is less of an issue. |

I would love to tell you my opinion of the HH motors but I ordered my Crawlmaster handwound 540's over two months ago and still haven't received them. I keep getting told "they will be shipping out this week", but no show. I'm getting aggrivated to the extreme! I'm wondering if I shouldn't have done business with Brood instead? If the Holmes motors ever show up, I'll try to give an honest opinion.

I cant say about holmes as I have only owned one of his mini motors it was a 22 turn and was too slow for my tastes. But like said above give the Brood motors a thought as well. Brood motors are well built, ship out fast, and have tons and tons of power. Eddie builds and rebuilds all my motors. Even the non Brood motors I send him come back better than they ever were. Just saying. Dont want to start a competiton between brands. Lots and lots of guys run either brand with good results.

Thanks for the suggestion, but really need some speed/torque comparison between the two HH motors. As in can I tell the difference between the two?

I haven't used a brood motor (i'm sure they are awesome) but one big reason I haven't ordered anything from them is that they have a ton of models with not very descriptive alphabet soup names, and no reference key or anything to tell you what the difference between the different models are. I'd like to try 'em out, but I have no f-ing clue why I would choose a "Apocalypse Type GT" or a "Creep Type HHK".

Rig Use (fun, bashing, comp....) Battery type & cell count (NiMH 7 cell, LiPO 3S) He will make a recommendation. Actually HH will do the same. I have run both motors (used when I received them) and not had an issue. | |

Did you read through his MOTOR SELECTION GUIDE? Read through that and then send EddieO a PM with any questions |

The Motor selection guide has been uP for months.... Explains all the differences. Pretty much every motor description states what the type is, alOng with what it provides. I am also available by Pm or by email, and I promise to find yours in the 300 emails a day I get. My machine wound motors are the ravage... And to answer your Hh question, the expert motors have better magnets as the main difference.... So you will get better torque, with better drag brake... The other motor has weaker magnets, so it will have weaker drag brake and torque but will spin up easier, so you will probably see a little extra wheel speed. Later EddieO |
