Default Please school me on servos

Hey guys

I'm needing some schooling on servos. I was wondering what the dif is between brushed, brushless and coreless? Which will be best for the steering on a super class crawler?

Thanks much
SS

That's funny because not 10 minutes ago narrowed it down to either the 7980 or the 7990. What I didn't know is if the Magnetic encoding was worth the extra $40?

I doubt you'll notice the difference on a crawler.

And yeah, Violator is right....7980s on a super.

7980 on a 2.2 Berg, 7980 on a wraith, anywhere I can squeeze them in. I have never been like " man I wish I did not have some much steering power." Just set the endpoints so you don't rip off the knuckles and your golden.

That thing is a BEAST! Mind where your fingers are when plugging the battery in or you'll be looking for a container to put your finger in on the way to the ER.

I've had good luck with Savox 1230SG's that are 500oz @ 6v. They are taller than a standard servo, but are half the price. I need to pick up a 7980 to give it a shot though.

Did I hear correctly that all the Hitec servos use a weird 2.something mm horn screw? Or is that only on the micros?
