i decided to upgrade my charger and got the tb6b. it came in and i have started to try and use it. watch a couple videos on youtube to learn the basics of the charger. now my question is i have put a 7.2v 5000 mah nihm battery on it to charge to see if i got it setup right. its been charging for 25+ min now and is saying the voltage is up around 9v. to me that doesnt seem right. any help would be great before i start exploding batteries. ive never had a charge like this. just the ones you plug it in and select the battery and hit start. thanks

The charger is likely a "peak charger", when you input the battery chemistry & cell count, the charger is looking to see the pack voltage level off and then stop the charge. You should be fine. Note: NiCD/NiMH should be "warm" at full charge, NOT hot. |
