| I'm so out of date
Ok, this is the thing, I want to build a Crawler, I'm thinking Enroute V3 MOA with a Novak M2/Dig/Ext BEC with 2x Rock Star 45T Motors. The thing is all this LiPo stuff is all brand new, i have picked up a Racers Edge 1-3S 5A LiPo/LiFe battery Balance Charger. And hope to get a bunch of us together here on Okinawa to day comp. Please help me select a Lipo Battery. |

For crawling you want something small. The point of this is the amount of mounting options it provides. Most crawlers use around a 800mah battery to a 1300mah battery. Any just buy quite a few of them. Depending on the electronics you run depends on the amount of cells you want/can run. A 2s lipo is equal to 7.4v nihm battery. Most will run 3s for the extra power but for starting 2s is fine. Hope this helps a bit.

These days, most folks are running smaller batteries than what was listed above. You'll see everything from 450mAh to about 800mAh. Get a few good 25C 3S packs. Make sure that M2 is 3S capable. |

I had a M2Dig ESC, never did really like it, couldn't use the programming cable (if you tried, you could FUNAR the ESC needing it to be sent in), lost all settings if you recalibrated it to the RX, etc. I would really suggest a different ESC. I also think you will get bored with the 45T motors, especially on 2S LiPO. I woudl go with a decent Holmes or Brood 35T machine wound, then you could replace the armature later with a handwound if you want more speed. What radio are you running? |

i run a 5000Mah in my scaler, but weight is not much of concern in it. the other two will probably get 1800Mh packs, but i am not a true comper either. I get like 3 hours of straight run time on my 3s 5000mah, got 4 hours out of my 6000mah 2s packs each.
