Exclamation New battery setup

hey guys im thinking about running a 6 cell aa battery pack in my pimp cane clod. do you think this will be enough juice?

6 cell IB 1400 Cells and im planning to mount them on my front axle.

what kind of runs times should i expect from these?

will it have enough juice to run a clod?

what should i expect for run time?

what amp can i charge them at my charger does 3.5 amps or 1 amps.

thanks for the help i dont know much about battery setups.

run time wllnot be too good about 15 to 20 minutes for a clod

they discharge at 15 to 20 amps so the will run it OK

charge at the 1 amp setting

I am in the process of completing my AA packs for my clod, I have 7 cell AA 2500 energizers for my TLTs and that I tried on my clod, works well. My new packs will be 8 Cell 2500 AA Engergizers that will sit on the front axle support.

Agreed, but it's ok for comps, not so great for all afternoon bashing.

Noob_superman, Do a search on Engergizer and you'll find tons of information on using AA's for clods. I will also note my run times when complete.

so bascially besides run time they should work fine? i dont want something that will make my truck stall since im running a tr2 with a big servo up front and a 645 rear. will this pack work ok without a receiver or is there another recommened option for running a pack on the front axle?

I would not run the 1400 AAs. They will drain way to fast. In AA's I would not run anything lower than a 2500mah on a clod. I got mine for 2.25 a piece. Check my sig for cheapbatteries.com. Best prices I have found and have ordered through them several times.

Also, (as you will find from searching) AAs are extremly heat sensitive. I charge mine at .7 amps. 1 amp should be fine though.

For a clod, I would make an 8 cell

Don't know of any places that sells the engergizers and makes custom packs. Make them yourself, very easy to do.

The same website should have all of your bars and connectors.

What motor are you running?

Update:

I made all of my packs last night. Again they are 8 cell Engergizer 2500 AA.
Took them out for a test run on the CLOD. From fresh fully charged to still driving but not enough umph to power out of a bind I was able to run 40 mins on a pack. This is semi-controlled non-full throttle driving. But I was testing it pretty hard; if I used even more controll I think I could get 45-50 mins. The pack was warm due to the higher discharge rate, but was not what I consider hot.

And in case you're wondering, my setup consists of 2 65t Axioms, two Airtronics 94359z's, a sooper rooster and a Spektrum receiver.

Oh and the AXIOMS ROCK compared to the Lathes, WAY more control especially on steep down hill inclines. Braking is really good over the lathes.

JRH was referring to Cheapbatterypacks.com, they have deans and everything you need to make your pack. You got the engergizers from a different site.

sorry if i missed it, what is your pack configuration? sadle, stick axle mounted? i want to order some for my clods , i would definetly try axle mounted, could i possibly mount 8 of those aa bats on a single side of the axle, assuming i have the steering servo mounted on the other side of the axle so i don't think i have space to mount 4 on each side.

Brick configuration. 4 stacked on top of 4. Hot glued and shrink wrapped. All 8 on front axle brace opposite of servo.
