Brand new scx10 goes into reverse and full throttle rev when radio off?
 

Just got a brand new rubicon I take It to the trail and occasionally it goes in reverse full throttle on its own, also when I turn off remote it goes full throttle as well, any ideas?

Is there even a failsafe I can set so when the remote is turned off the truck don't take off on me?

Turn off the RX before the TX every time. You always have to shut down power to the truck before the radio.

Plus its not a good idea to keep your rig on and your transmitter off...glitching can occur


Replace your transmitter batteries!

Ya, it could be anything sending it a signal if your radio is off.

Oh i know this, but its odd this happens to this rig, i have 3 other scx10's and they do not fly away when i turn the tx off.

I see this posted a lot, the fact remains you should never do this. If you never do this then it will not be a problem.

To begin with check all of your electrical connections for loose or exposed wiring, make sure your aerial is not attached to any metal parts of the chassis and try resetting your esc..

What type of radio are you using, am/fm or 2.4ghz. What electronics are using, cheap crap or quality?

its all stock from a brand new Axial scx10 Jeep Rubicon RTR .... Axial AX-3 TX & RX.... AE-2 ESC

Im thinking the RX is defective.

I'm thinking you're going to piddle away perfectly good money buying one receiver after another trying to do something that your instruction manual tells you not to do. Hope it works out for ya, enjoy. "thumbsup"

Putting aside what you said about turning the controller off first, a 2.4ghz system should not get radio glitching. Being its an rtr jk, don't trust that the esc has been set up properly. Try programming the esc again or even binding the tx & rx together again? Alternately try another tx & rx if the problem persists?

While it's been established you shouldn't turn off the TX with the rig on, here are some thoughts.

1-ESC not well set-up, thus it moves, recalibrate it.
2-Most RX's have a "fail-safe" mode you can set. You either want "full brake" (Nitro rigs with no reverse) or "neutral" (rigs that have reverse).

It really does not matter what the radio is (AM, FM or 2.4ghz), no signal/poor signal to the RX can yield odd results.

with everything set to center rebind the tx to the rx this will set the fail safe to center and it wont do it again

Hey guys found out it was just interference with my Radio and my friends, we had to change out radio/ receiver and all is good now... Truck still takes off when radio turned off but thats fine, i hear its normal with certain models.

If it happens again try and reset the fail safe on your receiver. As follows,

The truck should not move when it loses signal withe transmitter.

Where did you hear it was certain models?!? Someone needs a brain check. Rx off first THEN turn of your Tx "thumbsup"
