Budget? It can be a $20 servo that has about 25-30kg of torque, or more then $100 a pop for something that is more durable and programmable and have warranty...etc.

unfortunately a decent servo will cost as much if not more than the entire rig. I used a 5645 (50$) on mine and it never failed. good luck |

Do you want a good servo or a budget servo? If you want good the Hi-tec or futaba already listed above are about the best but if you want to go a little more budget savox makes some good servos also for about half the price or just a little more. |

You can get the 7954 for less than $100 also. Probably more in the $75-80 range.

I would go with the 7955 before the 7954!! But if your gonna spend the $ fork out a tad bit more and get a 7950.. You won't be disappointed... |

Never had any issues with the 7954 gears and I'm quite hard on stuff. My issues always been the amplifier burning up during a stall at 7.4 volt. I turned on the 10% and fixed that problem. I threw out the 7954 due to the fact was a " budgeted " servo and has room to grow and options.... And that's shipped to my door... Unless I was going back in time to around 2008 I wouldn't buy a 7955 unless it was for a winch, lol. Hell I go with 7980 or 7950 when I don't want servos to fail. | |

The 7955 is a weaker servo. Its something like 333oz and the 7954 is 403oz. I've had them in a lot if heavy rigs including a 12lb wraith. For the money its a great servo.

| Re: Servo They both make the same torque. The hitec factory pilots run the 7955 on unregulated 2s lipo. 7954 has steel gears and the 7955 has titanium gears. If you think the 7954 is better then by all means have fun with it. I just don't see it that way.

Because the 7955 is only rated at 6v not 7.4v. So you run the risk of burning it up. It isn't meant for that kind of voltage.
