Default 10s 36v motor am I crazy ?

Bought a brand new 36v dewalt about a month ago. Was installing some lights on a dozer today forgot my drill on the track and crunch I'm out $300. But sliver lining the motor is undamaged. So I was thinking I have started collecting parts for an 8x8 project. Was going to run dual 14v dewalts but what about a 36v motor on 10s ? It's going to be heavy but that's what I'm going for. I searched but couldn't find much on setups like this in anything but on road RC. Anyone try this before ?

never seen it done. but heavy, 8 wheel drive, and 10s makes for some serious pulling power. finding an esc that can handle that power might be difficult

What is the C rating for the Battery?
What is the max amp rating for the motor?

I can get up to a 100c off the shelf there is a local battery shop that will build me a 250c custom. From what I can find the stalk rating of the motor is around 300 amps

A boat ESC was my thinking too. Since weight is no issue the required water cooling should be just another "cool" feature on the truck!

What kind of drivetrain do you expect to use and be able to handle the power???

100c = 100 Amp

So 36 v x 100 = 3600 watt peak power!

3600 watt/746 = 4.82 H.P That is a lot of power

----------------------------------------------------

36 v x 250 = 9000 watt peak power!!

9000 watt/746 = 12.06 H.P .....Not needed at all

----------------------------------------------------

I am thinking a 50C battery should be enough. Then two its peak power will be 2.4 H.P

Operating voltage 12 - 63 V
Max. continuous current (for full throttle) 400 A

Your not crazy, its ingenious.

I run the 250 amp version on 12 cell (5000mah 65c thunder powers) in my Losi 5ive...never even gets warm.

Haven't got as far as axles yet so far I have
36v motor
The square tube for frame rails
4 x 7954 servos
6 channel controller
8 x 2.2 pitbulls on axial rims
I've 4 different sets of 8 shocks see what fits best after I build the rails and decide on axles.
I like the idea of the marine ESC and using a radiator to cool it just for cool points. This thing is going to be geared low because of weight so I don't think heat will be a big problem.
I really need to find a body before I go much further.

100c would equal 100a only if the battery has a capacity of 1ah. I would guess in a rig this size 10ah might be more realistic. A 10ah 100c battery would be able to produce 1000a.

Not knowing the ESC, does it have/do you need:

-Instant reverse?
-Drag brake?
-Is it brushed, brushless or both?
-Is your motor brushed or brushless?
-Is the ESC programmable, if so, how?
