Default Castle BEC installation question

I am trying to connect Castle BEC to Sidewinder ESC.

On the quick installation diagram, it says "Disconnect the red wire from the ESC to the throttle channel on your receiver when using the CC BEC"

But in the picture of the user guide, the red wire is connected to receiver. So, which configuration should I follow? thx

I believe that CC has revised the diagram:
http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...user_guide.pdf

Disconnect the Red wire From the ESC leading to the Receiver -just pull the Red wire from the connector by placing Exacto blade under the plastic tab holding the wire in place. This will leave you wit only the Black & Signal (white, yellow or orange) on the ESC connector to plug into the Throttle channel of the RX.

Thank you for the confirmation. I guess the picture in their printed user guide is not up to date.

or buy 1 of these works great 5$ steal

Receiver Bypass Adapter meant to keep a load off of Receiver. Designed for Crawlers and other applications.
Plug external BEC into the side with a red and black wire, and your servo into the other side. The male plug goes into the servo channel in the RX like normal. This puts power directly to the servo, taking strain off of the rx

The BEC designates the voltage sent to the RX.
The ESC. supplies it's own operating voltage but that would be
unused when running the BEC.

If both the ESC and BEC voltages are supplied together...
the RX will become confused and fail to work properly.

so that is why the red + pos wire needs be removed
from the ESC plug that plugs into the RX chan. 2 port.

The BEC gets it's power by being wired
into the primary battery (+ and -)

I recommend heat shrink for that loose wire (end)...
as it could short out if it isn't protected/covered.

I'm not sure of the other methods of wiring the BEC
while still using the ESC's voltage supply.
