LED controller + splicing

I've seen this asked, but never answered. Long story short:

I bought the Axial simple LED controller and a brake light controller assuming I could put the 4 LED's that came with it into my wraiths front lights then use the 5 string I bought plugged into the other side and just run the brakes through the brake light controller. Then, because I didn't do enough research prior to buying, I found out the other port on the simple LED controller is only 5v, unlike the front which pushes 15v I believe.

My question is, since the resistor is in the board, can I splice the 4 and 5 string into the same plug then run it through the front? The strings are run in series and the resistor is in the board. So theoretically splicing black to black and white to white should work. Correct?

Also, this would simply leave the rear 5v empty.

Re: LED controller + splicing

Well, with impatience, a soldering iron, some splicing, some heat shrink, then some cutters, splicing, and heat shrinking back the answer is NO. It will run 5 alone, or 4 alone, but if you hook up both only the 4 will light. Well piss, guess I'm buying a different light controller!

If you're already splicing and soldering, make your own.

I've done this both headlights and taillights. But if you're wanting functional brake lights, pickup a heyok brake light controlker (AL can provide pre-wired Leds or you can do your own per the above link) and then plug them into the controller

Re: LED controller + splicing

Thanks, but since I have already purchased the 4&5 sets then I might as well just pick up a cheap controller and hook them all up. Will probably do my next setup myself though
