High battery drain??

I have built a custom....thing....based on a TH drive train (trans, motor, and rear end). just took the system out and tested it on a 1600Mah 3S 25-50C(yeah, I know, motor is not rated, but oh well ;) ) battery with a cheapo Chinese knock off "320A Crawler" ESC. I got maybe 10 minutes of run time in 2wd (no front drive line yet), when I took the battery out it was 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4V and was warm, not hot, but warm and it had cooled down maybe 2 minutes before I got the box open.

Never ran a stock TH but i can't imagine that rig has this little run time stock......or does it??? Eventually this will get a much higher KV brushless system, but for now it will run like this. I am looking at a pair of 1750 Mah 3s packs with a 40C discharge to run in the future, the idea was to run parallel with those.

here is the build thread
