Default What happened to Castle?

I was looking at getting my MMP repaired. Their ad states repairs will be far less than the price of a new one. Repair cost $98 and I have to pay to ship. A new one shipped is $107.

I recently e-mailed some pics of a couple Micro Sidewinders, and the CSR I chatted with told me out-of-warranty replacement was probably my best option, at $30 each (and they'd have a warranty). I expected to have to pay to return the old ones, that didn't surprise me, but when I got the new ones, they were acting just like the returned ones. Pulled the firmware back to the most recent non-beta (1.24, I think?), and now they work fine. One of my old ones was legitimately broken, so I wasn't overly upset about replacing units that might have worked. Plus, even used, these things typically don't sell that cheap.

I'm pretty happy with the deal I got. If your repairs are that extensive, you might be best off just considering letting the old gal go, and go for the replacement.

Yes, I'd tell them to keep it and buy yourself a new esc.

Novak did that to me several years ago and I told them to pound sand....I've never bought anything Novak since then, shame since they had great customer service back in the day.

I was about to send in an MM2 esc and they wanted $130!!! I bought an MMM for $119 shipped! Unless its under warranty I'll never send them a thing! I like Castle too but they will never get paid to "repair" anything from me.

I had a GT7 go nuclear for no reason what so ever...

So I sent it to Novak and the fukr's charged me extra for excessive damage.

Yeah I always just buy new, repairs cost as much or more and the down time is a bummer.

$75 on their website for a flat exchange.

$127 new on towers website.

Unless you are being charged the douchebag tax, I think there is some kind of miscommunication somewhere.

Your clearly mistaken, I sir, am no DB. Look in my RC room, not a 1.9 to be seen.

Must have been a while since you actually looked at the site.
Got the traxxas version from the dragster for $65 shipped on ebay.
What a bargain.

I agree, had a MMP go to crap on my in my scaler. I thought it was no big deal, will only cost me about half price of new to send it to castle for repair....loaded up their repair form....$98?!?! I ended up buying a new one on amazon for $106... I think next time I need an ESC I'll try out some of the cheap chinese offerings. Though, Castle's one year warranty is still pretty attractive. The sad thing is I was saving a broken MMM for when I had the money to send in to be repaired, that was when it was a flat $75 to repair them. Now it's $130. Guess it'll be a while longer before that rig get's back up and running.
