| 9.2v vex battery for castle creations sidewinder sct combo
Hi guys. I just got a castle creations sidewinder sct combo. I plan use deans ultra plug, so I soldered that on. In the future I plan on buying a 3s lipo, but for the time being I have a bunch of Vex NiCd 9.6V batteries (flat ones) and Vex NiCd 7.2v batteries (bar ones) with tamiya plugs. I bought a tamiya to deans converter connector already, but it's going to take 2 weeks to arrive. Im so excited that I can't wait to get the combo set up and running! I plan to plug the deans plug directly into a tamiya plug (it works, the metal contacts contact each other and the plugs hold each other reasonably tight). The question is, am I fine using one of the Vex batteries to set up my system? |

Now, i haven't used the vex batteries but forget about tamiya plugs. Switch over to the real deans plugs, they will far surpass your needs. Anything is better than a tamiya plug...

Personally I would not even bother using the NiCd packs you will seriously starve you motor/ESC and possibly cook those packs. Why not just get some lipo packs they are so cheap now. This is what I use. Revolectrix 3300mAh 2S Lipo - 40C Platinum Label - GP/KO (JST XH) Balance Connector |
