I like the idea, but i would be concerned with how much dirt and debris would get into those motors. Seems like an easy way to make a 4x4 5b/t/sc though. From what i saw of the RCX coverage those conversions are expensive at $350 each for the motors, each wheel mount/connecting arm is $75 and the new roll cage that bolts in place of the gas engine is $150. For a 4wd baja that would be $1700 just in conversion parts from TIDNAB not counting the ESC's to run all of them and the 6-18s batteries and battery trays. The owner of the company claims that there is over $1M in R&D in their test mule and they have driven it more than 4,000km. If the technology becomes more commercially available and therefore cheaper, this may be a viable option for new vehicle development. I also wonder how the 4wd cars handle with all 4 motors turning at the same time? It seems to me that you would need to have the ESC's setup to limit power slightly to the inside wheel while cornering.
