Default Scx24 electronics question

My son and I both have scx24. I have replaced his motor once already in his.
Today we were driving around inside the house and his just died. We tried putting another battery in his, and nothing. We swapped batteries with his and it would connect but only turn the wheels left and right. It would not move forward or reverse. Is the motor gone again?

His has always ran just a touch faster why would that be.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Steering works no power is a usual result of one battery cell low

Test the battery in both cars.
The battery charger for the scx24 is not great and they don't charge the batteries properly or they just quit working quickly.

Best to get a better charger.

I don't know myself if that's the issue. But steering and no motor is consistent with low battery.

If one cell is bad, the pack will have lower voltage after charging

We have four batteries total. We swapped the battery that was working my deadbolt drive and steering to his and just steering. We did put the other batteries in and same response on his deadbolt.

Most any hobby lipo charger really.

Something like this can charge dam near anything and has some other awesomeness for testing esc and servos.

You need to check the individual cells with a balance checker. This will help you check for a bad cell

To update this thread

I went to rc shop and it was the motor again. I put the $20 motor in this time. It is longer and messes with the battery tray. He moved it back and it seems to be okay. It is not like the battery is that heavy.
