Default I maaaaaay need some help

So I'm having an issue with my Mamba X and Tekin ROC 412. It may be water... I'm not sure. I have some serious cogging going on at low speed and it shuts "off" at high speed. It comes and goes and so far, has only does it in possible moist environments. But yesterday, it was only barely raining.

Now, I used 2 part epoxy for the sensors on the motor. I also used dielectric grease on the plug terminal on the motor. I have not used it on the connection at the ESC. But it will intermittently run in "I think" sensor mode and I can unplug the sensor and it runs fine. Really smooth, in fact, at low speed unplugged. But when it's cogging, it sounds awful. Horrible. It will only run smoothly at 50-75% throttle. Any higher, and it stops.

I'm going to pick up a temp gun later today. When I touched the motor after driving, it was hot. This is on my Wraith.

Anyways, that's where I'm at right now. Also, I haven't updated the firmware yet to the latest version. I've been a bit lazy...

I appreciate with any advice I can get!

Have you looked at the log ?
Not sure about epoxy vs conformal coating on the board....

I'm wondering what the ETA is on the new waterproof ROC 412s that Tekin has eluded to... I'm going to my first G6 on 22April and I kinda want this to work.

I haven't checked the log yet either. I may try to do that this evening... But I've seen where others have used epoxy on the sensors. But who knows?

Sensor wires can get damaged rather easily, try a new one.

It is a quick check to rule out a frequent cause of problems with sensored motors.

I'm very curious as well about the Waterproof Roc thats supposedly being in the works hence the "Shhh" comment from Ty@Tekin a few weeks ago...
Thats a done deal for me when and if that drops... take my money now.

Hope you get your rig figured out, I'm guessing its the sensorwire port area maybe getting wet. You said you used dielectric grease right? I use the conformal coating on the boards, but use the Dielectric on ports like rx, plugs etc. Maybe try some on there? Good luck.

After toying with it on my lunch break yesterday, I think its 100% waterproof (or lack of somewhere) related. I'm suspicious about it being the sensor wire terminal coming off of the Mamba X ESC. I have dielectric grease in the port on my motor but not on the sensor lead for the ESC. I'll have to put some on there and get back out with it again and do a little wet environment testing!!!

I did a fairly good job of putting the epoxy on the sensor board for the motor. I didn't attempt to open up the plastic housing for the wires coming off it it, but the sensors themselves are good to go. (I HOPE!!!)
