Default Puller Pro 2200kv

Dear all, Just receiving my HH PP BL 540 2200kv water proof brushless motor today and noticed in front of the motor can there are 6 holes there. My first HH PP 3500kv water proof brushless motor sold to one of my friend and I could not remember, were there normal if there are 6 open holes in front the motor can? Am I receiving the correct motor?

As I am just wondering if there are holes, how can it called water proof? Please pardon my silly questions here.

Water doesn't affect the armature but rather the sensor board (that's why all brushed motors are waterproof). Holmes coats the sensor board and all connectors to make these waterproof.

Thank you mikebecher for your input here( Appreciated )

Since the water can go inside the motor can mean including tiny stones and debris. If I remember correctly in the video Harley used to teach us, how he used a silicone glued to seal up all the holes on the Tekin ROC412 motor.

Do you think it is good to seal it up with silicone glue? Also how often one needs to take apart the motor for a general service, like re-lube the seal bearings and give it a good clean?

Thank you

Those holes on the endbell are going to be pressed against the motor plate so not much is going to get in there. If you still feel the need to close them up, use some M3 setscrews instead of glue.

Make sure if your going for a dip with your Puller Pro to waterproof the connectors for the sensor wire. I just kept it simple and used Di-electric grease where the connection is on the motor. Both connectors on the sensor wire at the esc's male and motors female sensor plugs should be dabbed up too. I'm sure using conformal coating wouldn't work on those tiny prongs/connection's.

@MattySlimz1987, I would buy some Di-electric grease. Thank you for your invaluable advice.

I wonder if the extra screws will interfere with the motor bolting down flush against the motor plate? It seems to me that may be an issue..
