| Help programming ESC with Trackstar multi-function smart program box
Hey all, I have a sensored brushless turnigy motor sitting in my TF2 right now with a matching ESC (60 amps, turnigy trackstar 1/10 scale), but would like some explanation on what all the options mean, and some tips on how to set it up for crawling/trailing. I'm aware that this is mainly a race focused ESC (and all the programming options seem to support that). https://hobbyking.com/en_us/tracksta...s-car-esc.html I've got this program box with it: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/trackstar-multi-function-smart-program-box.html I've been googling around quite a bit. Found the manual, found how to get it running / bound / reset etc, and the v2.06 update, but no write-ups of what all the options actually do. Any help is much appreciated. Programming Options I understand: • Running Mode: Forward/Brake, Forward/Brake/Reverse, Forward/Reverse • Motor Direction: Normal, Reverse • Reverse Speed: 25~100% (in 1% increments) • Voltage Cut-off: 3~11V (in 0.1V increments) • ESC Overheat Protection: 85°C, 105°C, 125°C • Motor Overheat Protection: 85°C, 105°C, 125°C • Throttle Deadband: 0.002~0. 150mS • Drag Brake: 0~100% (in 1% increments) • Brake Strength: 0~100% (in 1% increments) • Intial Brake: = Drag brake Programming Options I don't understand fully: • Punch Rate Switch Point: 1~99% (in 1% increments) • 1st Stage Punch: 1~30 (in increments of 1) • 2nd Stage Punch Rate: 1~30 (in increments of 1) • Throttle Input Curve: Linear, Custom • Brake Rate Switch Point: 1~99% (in 1% increments) • 1st Stage Brake Rate: 1~20 (in increments of 1) • 2nd Stage Brake Rate: 1~20 (in increments of 1) • Brake Input Curve: Linear, Custom Basically, i'd like to have full throttle/brake immediately when I fully hit it on my Tx, right now it sort of spools up, same with the brake. I've tried just fiddling with the settings a bit but it's not working as I'd like yet. There's no setting to 'disable' 1st/2nd stage punch/brake rates. Thanks in advance. |

Did you max out all the punch/rate settings?

On my other cars (for instance with a 1080wp ESC) I normally keep punch rate low to give smooth startup on minimal throttle, so I used a low setting here as well, but yeh, could make sense to try maxing it out. I'll try when I get home.

Ok, I maxed out both lvl 1 and 2 punch and brake rates, and the truck is now behaving like I want. However, I found even more options on the programming box what do these do:
